Betty Lou Gutierrez

Betty Lou Gutierrez, 87, of La Junta, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center. Betty was born to William Logan & Beaulah May (Bridges) Prater on November 13, 1924 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She married Gavin A. Gutierrez on September 17, 1947 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma; he preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 2008.  
Betty is survived by her brother-in-laws, Alvin (Barbara) Gutierrez, and Raymond Gutierrez both of Kim; sister-in-law, Mary Gutierrez of Kim; brother-in-law, Don Burgener of Boulder; and numerous nieces & nephews also survive.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband; step-brother, Edwin Prater; brother-in-laws, Vernon, Charles & Benjamin Gutierrez; sister-in-laws, Margaret Burgener & Evangeline Gutierrez.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 3rd from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be Saturday, December 3rd at 10:30 a.m. at the Higbee Cemetery with Reverend Andy Albright of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating.
