Clarence L. Roberson

February 25, 1936 — November 29, 2011

Clarence Lee Roberson, 75, of La Junta, passed away peacefully November 29, 2011 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center.  He was born on Feb. 25, 1936, in La Junta, Colorado to Herbert & Verna (Wray) Roberson.  He married Barbara Tull on April 2, 1960 in Cheraw, Colorado.
Clarence served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict; he served on board the aircraft carrier the USS Lexington. He was a disabled veteran that loved his country.  He enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; especially supporting and following his children & grandchildren at rodeos.  Clarence loved animals of all kinds.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara of the La Junta family home; sons, Chad (Shawn) Roberson of Eads, Colorado, Dale (Susan) Roberson of Bradenton, Florida, Ty (Nikki) Roberson of Amarillo, Texas; daughter, Robin (Loyd) Broce of Cheraw; brothers, Francis Roberson of La Junta and Robert Roberson of Fallon, Nevada; sister, Joyce (Steven) Burton of Wiley, Colorado; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Herbert & Roy Roberson, and his sister, Eva McFatridge.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Roy Lee Roberson of Beulah, Colorado officiating. Interment will follow at the Ft. Lyon National Cemetery with military honors by the Rocky Ford Rifle Team, American Legion Post #8. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Peacock Memorial Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity on choice direct or through the funeral home.
