Daniel Ray Dwyer, known to many as Dan, was born January 15, 1951. He grew up in Leadville and continued to live in Colorado most of his life, including La Junta, Golden, Denver, and Walsenburg. Dan was both witty and humorous, often making those around him laugh.
Dan studied the draftsman trade and worked as a carpenter in his early years. He then found a passion for cooking and worked in various food trade industries such as hospitals and restaurants. A health incident led to his early retirement, and he rehabilitated to gain his mobility and motor skills back. Living in Pueblo for many years at an assisted living center, Dan recently had moved to La Junta to be near his kids.
With a great love for traveling, fishing, drinking beer, and classic rock, Dan definitely knew how to have fun in life. As ornery and stubborn as he could sometimes be, his passions in life are now fond memories of those closest to him. Dan left this earth on August 29th, 2022, at 71 years old, but his memory will remain for a lifetime in the hearts of those who loved him most. Rest well Dan, we love and miss you.
He is survived by his children, Sean (Christen) Dwyer and Danielle (Ivan) Pacheco all of La Junta; grandchildren, Logan Dwyer, Isis & Zeppelin Pacheco; sister, Barbara Doniley and niece, Kim Lawson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
As per Dan’s request cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
