Lois L. Barber

Lois L. Barber, 77, of Canon City and formerly of La Junta, passed away Dec. 28, 2011, at the Forget Me Not Care Center in Canon City.  She was born to John Thomas & Frances Emma (Riggers) Wylde on December 27, 1934 in Clarkston, Washington. She married Glen O. Barber on March 30, 1949; he preceded her in death on July 19, 1988.

She is survived by her children, Florence (Harold) Price of Brighton, Colorado, Jacquline (Dale) Sanchez of Colorado Springs, Oliver Barber of Norfolk, NE, Josie Barber, F. Gail Kostelny and Julia (Alan) Stecklein all of Canon City, CO, Roy Barber of Westcliffe, CO, and Thomas (Barbara) Barber of Canon City, CO, 36 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Jesse Wayne Martinez and great-granddaughter, Tatum Paige Moody.

Graveside service was Friday, December 30, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in La Junta with Helmut Kienitz officiating. A memorial service will also be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Praise Community Church in Florence at 215 N. Pikes Peak Avenue in Florence with Pastor Wayne Dickerson officiating.
