Loretta was born on August 21, 1926, to Sam and Suzie (Judiscak) McCracken in Walsenburg, Colorado. She departed this life on January 12, 2022, at Southeast Colorado Hospital in Springfield, Colorado, at the age of 95.
She married Clyde Campion Jr. on October 18, 1944, in Walsenburg, Colorado. To this union three sons were born: Donald, born in 1946; Gary, born in 1947 and Richard, born in 1950.
After the death of her husband in 1958, Loretta began working for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, in Walsenburg. At an A.S.C.S. convention, she met Jack Goode of Kim. On March 9, 1960, they were married and she and sons, Gary and Richard, moved to the Goode Family Farm near Kim, Colorado. Loretta helped Jack with the farming and ranching, as well as, being involved in community and school activities.
On January 9, 1961, daughter Nancy was born, completing her family.
She was an active member of the Sunshine Needleworkers and the Branson-Trinchera Craft Club. Her favorite activity was crocheting and she spent many hours creating beautiful scarves, doll dresses and other handmade works.
Loretta is survived by her children, Nancy (Brett) Balenseifen; Richard (Gloria) Campion; Gary (Sandra) Campion; stepson Jack C. (Angialea) Goode; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 14 great, great-grandchildren and a wonderful community of friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clyde Campion and Jack Goode; twin sister, Etta; brother, Andrew and son, Donald
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. Both services will be at our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Victor Raj officiating. Interment will be at Kim Cemetery in Kim, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Kim Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 137, Kim, CO, 81049 direct or through the funeral home.
