Mary Lulu Boshart, 88, of La Junta, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center. She was born on May 20, 1924 to Daniel & Lulu (Birky) Boshart in Shickley, Nebraska.
Mary moved to Thurman, Colorado when she was five and attended school there until she moved to Cheraw, Colorado when she was 12. Mary worked for various places in Denver and later moved to La Junta in 1960 where she worked at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center until retiring in 1989. Mary enjoyed reading, puzzles, doing word searches and watching Jeopardy. Mary enjoyed going out to eat Chinese food with her special great-nephew Justin. She has been a resident at Evergreen Gardens for the last six years.
Mary is survived by her sister, Mabel Sciumbato of La Junta; nieces and nephews, Debbie (Mike) Fazio of La Junta; Mary Ann (Bob) Rusler of Rocky Ford; Ferne (Dennis) Lorain of Albany, OR; Wanda Buchanan of Salem, OR; Walter, Connie, and David Boshart all of Hutchinson, KS; Cliff Bangert and Brenda Bangert both of Elkgrove, MN. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Lee & Elmer Boshart; sister, Elizabeth, and several nieces & nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., at the East Holbrook Mennonite Church in Cheraw.
