Albina E. “Mary” Trujillo, 81, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on August 20, 2013 at the University Park Care Center in Pueblo, Colorado surrounded by her family.


 


Mrs. Trujillo was born Albina E. Valerio on January 19, 1932 in Taos, New Mexico and is survived by her husband Lawrence Trujillo. In May 12, 1950, Albina married Lawrence Trujillo of Rocky Ford, Colorado where they made their home and raised 3 children.


 


She leaves behind, her beloved husband, Lawrence of the Rocky Ford home; beloved children, Florence (Tommy) Martinez, Martha (Archie) Martinez and Lawrence (Lydia) Trujillo Jr.; four grandchildren, Eugene Chaparro, Amanda Elliott, Deanna Hofmann, and Tommy Martinez, II; five great-grandchildren Taylor and Marcus Hofmann, Nicole Chaparro, Jakob and Presley Elliott; her brother, Michael Valerio and two sisters, Annabelle Werick and Feddie Marlow.


 


Mrs. Trujillo enjoyed her family, celebrating holidays and special occasions, cooking, dancing and gardening.


 


The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to University Park Care Center – Pueblo staff for her care.


 


Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.


 

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, 1:30 p.m. and Funeral Mass will follow at 2:00 p.m. both services will St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rocky Ford with Father Paul Ekeh officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 from 5-7 pm at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta.  Interment will follow at the Rocky Ford Cemetery.
