Alice Bell Higgs, 95, of Fowler passed away on April 14, 2017 at the Fowler Heath Care Center. She was born on January 10, 1922 in Haswell, Colorado to Frank & Birdie (Davis) Harriman. She married Virgil Kelly Higgs in Raton, New Mexico; he preceded her in death on October 21, 1973.
Alice Bell was a caregiver for her mother, sister and to her very close family friend, Vic. She became a widow at the young age of 51. She enjoyed square dancing, camping, fishing and pinochle. She was a Fowler Grizzly fan and Denver Broncos fan. Alice Bell was very active in the Methodist Church and active with her kids, grandchildren and her “adopted kids”, she touched many lives and we are blessed to have Alice Bell in our lives, she will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her children, Virginia (Rick) Sharon of Fowler, CO; Larry (Rose) Higgs, Phillip (Diana) Higgs all of Pueblo; Glynn (Rita) Higgs of Burlington, CO; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great, great-grandchild; two sisters-in-law, Velma Cox of Eugene, OR; Carolyn Harriman of Pueblo, CO; special niece, Mickey (Tim) and nephew, Bob C.; many nieces, nephews & cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, twin daughters, Joyce Lee & JoAnn; siblings, Eddie (Dorothy) Harriman, Lilly (Frank) Christensen and Clark Harriman.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fowler United Methodist Church with Pastor Brian Blackburn officiating.
Those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to the Fowler United Methodist Church, 302 S. Main St., Fowler, CO 81039 direct or through the funeral home.
