Amalia Flores Rosales

January 26, 1930 — March 26, 2015

Amalia Flores Rosales, 85, of La Junta departed this life on March 26, 2015 at her daughter’s home in Rocky Ford. She was born on January 26, 1930 in Valley Center, Kansas to Fidel & Maria Flores. She married Froilan Rosales on August 23, 1949 and by the Catholic Church in 1950; he preceded her in death on July 16, 2014.
 
Amalia was affectionately known as Molly and was an active member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish. She took great pride in her cooking. Molly changed the world for the better one tortilla at a time. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
 
She is survived by her children, Froilan (Regina), Gerald (Soledad), Julius (Robin) and Eunice (Randy); 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Erlinda, Martha, Maryann, James, Elias and Daniel all of Wichita, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Timothy, grandson, Kevin, and her siblings, Raquel, Chris, Arthur.
 
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Arkansas Valley Hospice Assoc., P.O. Box 408, La Junta, CO, 81050 direct or through the funeral home. 
 

Memorial Mass will be April 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Paul Ekeh of the St. Peter’s Catholic Church officiating.
