Anthony John "Tony" Labazzetta

June 13, 1945 — March 23, 2020

Anthony John Labazzetta, 74, of Kim, Colorado, passed away on March 23, 2020.

Born in Patterson, NJ in 1945, he was known to all by “Tony”. He graduated from high school in 1963 and was honored to serve his country in the United States Air Force as both an active duty member until 1969 and the reserves until 1971. In addition to his service, Tony earned his BA from the University of Wyoming 1971 and then went on to earn the distinction of Masters of Social Work from the University of Denver 1973. Tony was a benevolent and vocal advocate who used humor, creativity and outside the box ideas to enrich the lives of anyone he met, especially children and veterans.

In 1990, Tony founded his cattle ranch, Labazzetta Ranch, in the great plains of Kim, CO. While he loved the serene, ranch life, Tony also had a wanderlust soul that took him on travels around the world with his daughter. He believed that St. Bernards always made his house a home and he was a true aficionado of classical music. Loved ones will always remember and cherish his unconventional sense of humor and dogged loyalty.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Nicole Labazzetta; his brothers, Paul and George Labazzetta; and his sweet St. Bernard puppy, Buonarroti. He was preceded by his parents, Rocco and Violet Labazzetta; his brother, Peter Labazzetta; and his sister, Rosemary (Labazzetta) Colpaert.

“When you’re up to your ass in alligators, don’t forget that your initial objective was to drain the swamp.” – Tony Labazzetta
