August 13, 1925 — September 28, 2015

Arline Blotz Fox, 90, of Rocky Ford died peacefully Monday, September 28, 2015, at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in La Junta. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 10, 11:00 a.m., at the Community Presbyterian Church with Reverend Steve Culver officiating.

She was born in Rocky Ford on August 13, 1925, to Evangeline (Hauck) and George Arlington Blotz.

Arline graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 1943, then attended the University of Texas in Austin and graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration.  For a short time after graduation, she remained in Texas working in various retail positions, then returned to Rocky Ford.  It was there that she married William Gobin Fox and moved to Houston, Texas.  Following a divorce in 1963, she moved back to Rocky Ford with her three children and embarked on a twenty-two year career as an elementary school teacher, a career which she loved and found very rewarding. After her retirement in 1985, Arline taught piano lessons, accompanied various choral groups in Rocky Ford and La Junta, and played in the bell choir at the Community Presbyterian Church.  She was also a volunteer youth mentor for the Otero Branch of C.R.Y. Big Brothers Big Sisters and taught English as a second language for adults. She enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid reader and golfer.

She is survived by her children, William Gobin Fox Jr., of Canon City; Ann Elizabeth Fox (Kent Warlick) of Denver; John Arlington (Janet) Fox of Denver; grandchildren, Lucy Renee Fox and Andrew Thomas Fox both of Denver; sister, Merrill Craig and brother, Byron (Rose) Blotz of Rocky Ford. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John F. (Jack) Blotz.

At the family's request, memorial donations may be made to the Rocky Ford Golf Course, Arkansas Valley Hospice, or a charity of choice.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
