Barbara Ruth Bradbury

Graveside services for long time La Junta resident Barbara Ruth Bradbury, 88, will be held on Saturday, November 8th, at 11:00 am at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta, Colorado. Barbara passed away on September 24, 2014, in Glendale, Arizona. She moved to Arizona for health reasons in 2013.


Born June 25, 1926, in Gridley, Kansas to Clyde and Sylvia Starrett. Barbara was united in marriage to Russell H. Bradbury on February 10th, 1945. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Sylvia Starrett, her husband Russell Bradbury, her three children Michael Bradbury, Casandra McElhaney, and Kerry Bradbury, and all seven of her siblings. Survivors include her grandchildren, Amy Rupert, Mirianda Brooks, Stephanie Ysidros, and Christina McElhaney, her great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.


Barbara Bradbury will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was an avid Denver Broncos fan. She knew more about football than most ardent fans and never missed a game. Barbara had an infectious laugh and would brighten up any family gathering with her incredible memory for family history. She loved to dance and we are confident she is now Dancing With the Stars.
