Betty
Jo Ann Buckhaults, 86, of La Junta, passed away on December 15, 2015
at the Rock Canyon Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center in Pueblo. Betty was
born on May 3, 1929 in Salina, Kansas to Ernest & Anna (Yonally) Sapp. 
 
In
1947, Betty met and married Thomas L. Hall of Cheraw on May 10, 1947 in Garden
City, Kansas. Tom and Betty lived the first half of their marriage in north
central Colorado and their later years in the Albuquerque area of New Mexico.
During their life together, they enjoyed visiting their family and friends and
most Saturday nights you found them at the Senior Center dances. Betty loved to
host parties as well as surround herself by her family and friends. She was a
huge supporter of her children in the many clubs and organizations they took
part in during their childhood. They were married 48 years until Tom’s passing
in 1995 in Las Animas, Colorado.
 
In
2002, Betty met Joe Buckhaults at the La Junta Senior Center and on May 3, 2002
on her 73rd birthday, they started dating on the second weekend in
September, which was Early Settler’s weekend. Joe & Betty were married on
July 19, 2003 at the Nazarene Church in Las Animas. During the years they spent
together they enjoyed spending their winters in their RV in Trust or Consequences,
New Mexico and loved going on cruise ship adventures. Joe passed away in 2011.
  
Betty is survived by her children, Thomas E. (Lorna) Hall of
Albuquerque, NM; Anna “Cody” Hall of Albuquerque, NM and Edwin “Ponch” (Cheryl)
Hall of Anderson, SC; granddaughter, Paula Sue (Duane Keller) Hall;
great-granddaughter, Chrystal Longgrear and her great, great-grandson, Ayden
also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Edith and
Elizabeth; brother, Elmer Sapp; first husband, Thomas L. Hall in 1995; second
husband, Joe Buckhaults in 2011.
