Betty Jean Curtsinger

Betty Jean Curtsinger, 82, of Swink passed away on July 26, 2013 at the University Park Care Center in Pueblo. She was born on November 11, 1930 to Carl M. & Edith M. (Burke) Bonham in Ordway, Colorado; she was the second of seven children. She married Leland M. Curtsinger on June 23, 1950 in Ordway; he preceded her in death on September 4, 2002.

Betty graduated from Ordway with the class of 1948, she was the Salutatorian. She worked at the Pickle Plant in La Junta for 30 years and then three years at Wal-mart.
 She is survived by her children, Jim (Ellen) Curtsinger of Grand Junction, CO, Ann (Joe) Petrov of Pueblo, CO, Richard (Catherine) Curtsinger of Mead, CO, Scott Curtsinger of Swink; brothers, Carl “Ikey” (Dalene) Bonham, Robert (Mary) Bonham, Harold (Margaret) Bonham, and John Bonham; nine grandchildren and nine great, grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Mary Cupp and Elaine Moore.

Those wishing to do so may make donations to the La Junta Associated Charities direct or through the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., at the Fairview cemetery with Reverend Tom Dudley of the Swink Methodist Church officiating.
