Betty Jean Fenter, 86, departed this life on July 4, 2017 at her La Junta home surrounded by her family. Jean was born on Jan. 1, 1931 in Dallas, Texas to Charles Lee & Inez (Bays) Weaver. She married Victor Otho Fenter on October 11, 2009 in La Junta; he preceded her in death Sept. 9, 2010.
Jean enjoyed sewing, painting and cooking. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Elizabeth) Daughtrey of La Junta; her daughter, Sharon (Michael) Cavitt of Stephenville, TX; grandchildren, Brian (Lena) Cavitt of Nashville, TN, Cynthia Cavitt of Oklahoma City, OK, Chessley & Megan Cavitt of San Tan Valley, AZ, Kristopher Daughtrey of La Junta, Aaron Daughtrey of La Junta, Jessica (Justin) Hosea of Rocky Ford, Nellie (Joey) Valencia of Albuquerque, NM; great-grandchildren, Lily, Elizabeth and Caleb Cavitt, Cameron, Abigail, Bethany, and Samantha Cavitt, Gracen and Ellisen Cavitt, Jason, Josh, and Ollie Hosea, and Arabella, Braven and Joseph Valencia. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her great-grandson, Emilio.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Bishop Jared Efrid of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in La Junta.
