Betty Lou Mcintyre

Betty Lou McIntyre, 86, of La Junta passed away on Friday, Feb. 17, 2017 at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, CO, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 6, 1931 in Salisbury, NC, the daughter of John William and Jesse Vera Yarbrough. She married Richard McIntyre on June 23rd, 1950 in Mayfield, KY; he preceded her in death on May 12, 2001.

Betty Lou was a dearly loved mother and homemaker. She was passionate about animals, especially dogs, and was an avid sports fan. Betty Lou enjoyed traveling to watch her grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in their activities and sports until her death.

She is survived by her daughters, Jean (Ronnie) Armstrong of Pueblo, CO; Debbie McIntyre of Highlands Ranch, CO; Nancy Joanne McIntyre of Highlands Ranch, CO; Laurie (Kenny) Pearson of La Junta, CO; son, Rich (Shelley) McIntyre of Wichita, KS; sister, Darlene Drye of Salisbury, NC; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews in NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her brother, Bill Yarbrough and sister, Janet Wilson; infant daughter, Betty Jane.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in La Junta with Reverend Gary Goettel officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and also Friday, February 24, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
