Betty Louise Mumaugh

Betty Louise Mumaugh, 88, died June 30, 2014 in Fowler, Colorado. She was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado on April 2, 1926 to Rocelia and Charles (Ray) Stanbridge. She married Dave O. Mumaugh May 15, 1948 and had two sons and two daughters between 1949 and 1960.


Betty was born in Rocky Ford and raised with one sister and two brothers. She received her education in Rocky Ford, Colorado and graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 1944. She and Dave were married on May 15, 1948 and lived in Canon City, Pueblo, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Rocky Ford in the ensuing years. Dave preceded her in death on July 26, 2007. After raising her four children, Betty returned to school and achieved a nursing certificate. She worked as a nurse at Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Rocky Ford and at The City of Faith Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Rocky Ford United Methodist Church for many years.


She is survived by her sister Lois Buehner of Tripp, SD; her two daughters Marilyn Meiklejohn of La Junta, CO and Nancy Kirkland of Vallejo, California; and two sons David Mumaugh of Lakewood, CO and Mark Mumaugh of Cheyenne, Wyoming; grandchildren Ozel Kirkland, Kira Barrett, Tehya Mihalus, Andy Meiklejohn, Julie Meiklejohn, Ryan Mumaugh, Kristen Mumaugh, Peter Mumaugh, Jennifer Mumaugh and Kevin Mumaugh and by 8 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles (Ray) Stanbridge and Mary (Rocelia) Stanbridge; her brothers Melvin Stanbridge and Robert Stanbridge, and her husband Dave O. Mumaugh


Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.



Funeral services will be held on July 3, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Rocky Ford United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford.
