Billy Gene Bryant, 65, of La Junta passed away December 6th, 2014 at his home.

Billy was born on September 6th, 1949 to Jasper & Bertha (Cupp) Bryant in Palestine, Arkansas. He married Sherri L. Barbee on February 13, 2003 in Cripple Creek. Billy proudly served his country as a Green Beret in Viet Nam. Billy was an avid classic country and old rock in roll music lover. He played and sang music in many states and loved to entertain.


Billy is survived by his wife Sherri, his son John Paul (Dawn), Grandchildren Delaney and John Walker of Bradenton, FL; Granddaughter Ashley (Charles Welch) Hanagan and Great-Grandchildren Jace, Greylee and Maggie of Weatherford, TX. Brothers & sisters, Jasper (Pat) Bryant, Jr. of Pueblo West, Ray (Pam) Bryant of Humble, TX, Ruth Hines of Benton, Arkansas, Mel Bryant of La Junta, Christine (Jerry) Chapman of Swink, Eugene (Joyce) Bryant of Guymon, OK, Phyllis (Bob) Bates of St. George, UT.


He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, J.C., Albert, Gilbert (Brenda)& William and his baby sister Sue.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.


Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ken West of the Crowley Community Baptist Church officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery with Military Honors by the Rocky Ford Rifle Team.

A celebration of Billy's life will be held at the La Junta Elks Lodge at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 12, 2014.
