Carol Ellen Clifton

Carol
Ellen Heins Clifton, 80, passed away on November 28, 2015 at her La Junta home.
She
was born in Buell, Missouri
on December 2, 1934 to Edward &
Stella (McQuiod) Heins.  She married Jack
Dempsey Clifton on September 18, 1954 in St.
Louis, Missouri; he preceded
her in death on July 25,
2007.
 
Carol
graduated from Soldan High
School in St. Louis,
MO in 1949. She did some substitute
teaching during the 1970’s for Otero Co. She was the secretary for the City
Manager. She was the administrative assistant for over 25 years at Jack’s Body
Shop. She was a member of the Emmanuel
Mennonite Church.
She was a lifelong member of the order of Eastern Star and past worthy matron.
 
She
is survived by her son, Jack Dale (Connie) Clifton of La Junta; daughter, Nancy
Lee (Joe) Newell of Louisville, CO; granddaughters, Kristin Leah (Travis)
Carpenter of La Junta; Grace Ellen  &
Brooke Nicole Newell both of Louisville, CO. 
 She was preceded in death by her
parents and her brother, Robert Christian Heins.
 
In

Funeral
service will be Saturday, December 5, 2015,
at 10:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel
Mennonite Church
with Pastor Jeremey Yoder officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery.
