Carol Jean Mccoy

August 12, 1940 — May 10, 2017

Carol Jean McCoy, 76, passed away on May 10, 2017 at the Sangre de Cristo Hospice in Pueblo. She was born on August 12, 1940 in Vidalia, Georgia to William & Opal (Davis) Dixon. She married Raymond E. McCoy on April 18, 1959 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Carol was a great cook, mother and devoted wife, she loved spending time with her family and loved being a grandmother. She enjoyed shopping and Christmas. Carol was involved with her children’s activities over the years. She enjoyed volunteering at many places some included the schools and the First Southern Baptist Church where she was a devoted member.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond of the La Junta home; children, Kathy (Brian) Butler of Swink, John (Regina) McCoy of Kansas City, MS; grandchildren, Chelsey Kimsey of La Junta; brothers, Bill (Sally) Dixon of Florida and Bobby (Janice) Dixon of California. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon Mills officiating.

Those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to the Sangre de Cristo Hospice, 26678 Frontage Road, La Junta, CO 81050 direct or through the funeral home.
