Manuel “Charlie” Lovato, 72, of La Junta passed away on April 27, 2016 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center in La Junta. He was born on March 11, 1944 in La Junta to Manuel & Cora (Archuleta) Lovato.
Charlie grew up and raised his family in La Junta. He was the loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was loved by many and will be missed by many. He dedicated himself to work in order to support his family. He worked 26 years with Western Foods/Dean Pickle where he was a fork lift driver; retiring in 2001 after retiring he spent his time working on his yard and spending time with his family and friends. Charlie was a devoted Denver Broncos fan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Flora of the La Junta home; children, Patricia (Daniel) Medina of Denver; Charlene (Art) Hernandez, Veronica (Abel) Aguilar, and Tracy (Phil) Navarro all of La Junta; Charlie Lovato, Jr. of La Junta; Rick (Megan) Lovato of Arvada, CO; his siblings, Betty Lucero of Oklahoma; Leo Lovato of Commerce City, CO; Patsy Rubaleava, Christina Argulo, Jerry Lovato and Shirley Lovato all of California; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Marie, Richard, Ruben, Rogers, Steven and Nick Lovato.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. and Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Matthew Wertin officiating. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.
