Christine May “Chris” Thorp, 62, passed away on May 14, 2015 at her home in Sugar City after a reoccurring battle with cancer. She was born on May 7, 1953 to Leroy and Doris Anderson in Denver, Colorado.
Chris was born and raised in Denver, graduated from Denver South High School, moved with her husband to Colorado Springs in 1978 to raise their family. She attended American Beauty College and operated a salon in Colorado Springs Area.
In 1992, Chris and her husband became owners and operators of All Rental on Austin Bluffs in Colorado Springs, a business founded two decades earlier by Rick’s father, Stan.
She is survived by her husband Rick; mother Doris of Sugar City; two sons Charlie (Jasmine) and Jeff (Brett), sister Cathy and mother- in-law Alice of Colorado Springs; five grandchildren, Ryan, Cole, Rex, Carley, Rocket all living in Colorado Springs. She was preceded in death by her father Leroy Anderson, grandson Rider Thorp, and father-in-law Stan Thorp.
She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and daughter Chris brought compassion and caring to all she met. She enjoyed book club and gatherings of family and friends. She is known as a great cook, and loved to travel. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and customers.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the River of Life Church in Ordway, CO.
