Craig D. Olesen

Craig D. Olesen, 56, of Rocky Ford, passed away on July 8, 2013 at the Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs. He was born on August 25, 1956 in Limon, Colorado to John G. & Wilma D. (Butler) Olesen.

Craig attended school in Limon. He worked at the Co-Op in Limon. He worked at the Big R in La Junta and the Ark-Valley Co-Op for 16 years. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoying building, creating, and destroying things as well as spending time in his shop that he built. He was a kid at heart and loved swimming, boating and fishing and he enjoyed all his kids and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of the Rocky Ford home; daughters, Nunzy (Tom) Koperski of Farwell, NE; Wilma Renae (Ryan) Lewandowski of Dannebrog, NE; son, Nicholas (Kelly) Olesen of Grand Island, NE; step-children, Heather (Renzo) Rivas of Pueblo; Michael (Heather) Blair of La Junta; Rachel (Nestor) Paulino German of Colorado Springs; Rebecca (John) Gilmour of La Center, WA; William (Channel) Blair of Pueblo; grandchildren, Dominick & Jalee Lewandowski, Taya, Davis, & Zane Olesen; step-grandchildren, Chris Chavez, Khalil & Elijah Collins, Axel Rivas, Alexandria & Daxton Blair, Joslyn Paulino German, Hailey & Emily Gilmour; brothers, John (Debbie) Olesen of Limon, CO and Randy Olesen of Colorado Springs; Judy’s mother, Rose Baccarella of Pueblo; step-mother, Jean Olesen of Platteville, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, previous wife, Judy Baccarella-Olesen and mother-in-law, Christina Allen.

As per Craig’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
