Dallas W. Schultz

Dallas W. Schultz, 85, of La Junta, passed away on April 21, 2012 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center. He was born on Dec. 6, 1926, in Denver, Colorado to Simon & Clara (Brian) Schultz.

Dallas was raised on a ranch near Thurman, Colorado until the family moved to the Cheraw area in the 1930's.  He married Margaret Hansen of Cheraw on July 21, 1946 and they farmed and ranched in Cheraw until retiring in 1997; when the couple moved to La Junta.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret of the La Junta home; sons, Dale (Melba) Schultz of La Junta, Wayne (Janice) Schultz of Lamar, and Claude (Joy) Schultz of Wiley; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Stella Miller of Longmont and Carol Ensworth of Chico, California.  Dallas was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Edna Brian.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the Cheraw United Methodist Church or to the United Methodist Church of La Junta.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.


A memorial service will be held at United Methodist Church of La Junta on Friday, April 27, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Terilynn Russ officiating.
