David William Tapscott, 78, passed away March 9, 2013, at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center.

David was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Marie Tapscott. David is survived by his children, Douglas Tapscott, Cindy Lyddon, & David Tapscott, grandchildren and great-grand childeren. He is also survived by his wife, Joy Tapscott.

David was an Eagle Scout, Koshare Indian Dancer, life long member of the United Methodist Church and served on the Church board, he also served on the La Junta City Council and two terms on the Arkansas Valley Utility Board. His career started with the Santa Fe Railroad and he retired as an insurance investigator with Equifax.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure (ww5.komen.org) in the name of David and Florence Tapscott.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.



A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the La Junta United Methodist Church at 601 San Juan Ave in La Junta with Reverend Terilynn Russ officiating.
