Tinker born April 5,
1935 in La Junta, Colorado to Dora Lee Ella and Bud Tinker. Delbert
passed away February
16, 2016 at the Colorado Acute Long-term Hospital in Denver,
Colorado. He spent his younger years in La Junta where he was raised by his
Aunt Clara Mae and Pottie Nelson after a divorce separated his parents. 
He moved to Longview, Washington to be with his father and there he graduated
high school. Delbert went into the US Army in 1954, serving in Italy, Austria,
and Germany during the Korean War as a bomb disposal expert and excelled in
sharp shooting. Upon returning home Delbert spent one year at the Colorado
Gunsmithing School in Lakewood, Colorado. In 1958 he married Beverley Steinke,
to them were born three daughters Debbie, Kim, and Tammy, the couple later
adopted granddaughter Amber.
 
On his
second tour of duty in the US army, Delbert served in Sinop, Turkey near the
Russian border. After he returned he began a career at Coors Brewery in Golden,
Colorado as a certified welder and machinist.  Shortly after the family
began raising and showing standard poodles. Delbert was president of the
Columbine State Poodle Club, showing and judging dogs in the US and
Canada. Moving to Oregon in 1989 they built a seaside home where Delbert enjoyed
many hours playing video games and chess with his grandkids. Also spending time
on the beach hunting agates. Because of illness Delbert and Beverley moved back
to Colorado settling in Hugo. Delbert continued his love of playing video games
and chess with his grandkids.  He was a longtime gun enthusiast and had a
passion for studying genealogy. In 2011 Delbert was diagnosed with Alzheimer's
and fought a long, hard battle with the dreadful disease succumbing to it and
kidney failure on February
16, 2016.
 
Delbert is
survived by his wife Beverley Tinker; daughters, Debbie (Sam) Stalford, 
Kim (Brian) Parmer, Tammy Saoirse (Jim Brittain), adopted granddaughter Amber
(Jim) Poland; brother, Jerry Alton (Marlene) Tinker; sister, Neva Tinker;
cousin, Joe (Joyce) Eaglesfether; grandchildren, Amber Poland, Lieutenant Aaron (Meghan)
Stalford US Navy, Miranda Parmer, Randi Webster, Joey (Carrie) Spencer, Jamie Spencer; great-grandchildren;
Aspen Poland, Sequoya Poland, Shannon Stalford, Keira Staford, Talib Webster,
Benjamin Webster and Audri Webster; and his dog Noola and Cat Tara.

flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of
Cruelty to Animals (ASCPA), at www.ascpa.org/donate,
direct or through the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 21, 2016, at The Depot at 2:00 p.m. in Hugo, Colorado. Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 22, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta, Colorado. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
