Dorothy N. Colton

Dorothy N. Colton, 86, of Fowler passed away on June 22, 2014 at the Fowler Nursing Home. She was born on November 17, 1927 in Ash Grove, Missouri to Orville & Thelma Harper. 
 
She grew up with seven brothers and three sisters. She married Glen Alan Colton on September 2, 1947 in Springfield, MO. Dorothy was a minister’s wife and he pastored at the Assembly of God Churches in Taos, Springer and Los Lunas, NM, Sparta, Seymour, and Springfield, MO, as well as in Trinidad, Florence, Colorado Springs, Alamosa, Lamar, Springfield, and Fowler, CO. Glen had over 50 years in the ministry, he retired while pastoring at the Northside Assembly in Colorado Springs. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2001.
 
Dorothy is survived by her children, Carol (Fred) Crouch of Springfield, MO; David (Jeanine) Colton of Aurora, CO; and Debbie (Randy) Bitter of Fowler; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 54 years; brothers, Adrian, Nelson, Leland, and Duane.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fowler Cemetery with Pastor Steve Chavez of the Pueblo Praise Church officiating.
