E. Dale Seaba, 89, of La Junta, CO passed away October 29, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Dale was born April 20,1935 in Sigourney, Iowa. He graduated from high school in Sigourney in 1953, the same year he volunteered for the United States Army with his best friend, Dan Noller, serving 2 years in Germany.
He married the love of his life, Neva Frazier, on August 9, 1958, and the pair moved to La Junta, Colorado as part of a business deal with Dan to own and operate the Midtown Motel. The Seabas made their home and raised their family in La Junta, becoming an integral part of the La Junta community.
Dale was better known for his almost 47 years as the sales manager for Mckenzie's Furniture. He often joked that people would come into the store for coffee and conversation and leave with a living room set.
Outside of work, Dale enjoyed visiting family in Iowa, spending time in the mountains, and working alongside Neva in their large, beautiful yard. Above all, Dale enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, sharing in all of her energy and activities–scootering in the driveway, playing soccer, and dancing and acting on stage. Dale never missed a game or performance.
Dale loved everyone, and everyone loved him–his easy-going personality, dry sense of humor, and his concern that everyone was having a good day. He was always up for an adventure and was a very loyal Bronco fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mary Seaba, brother Denis Seaba, and sister Geraldine Pacha. He is survived by loving wife, Neva, children, Debra Seaba and Thomas (Julie) Seaba. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Benjamin Meiklejohn and Lillian Seaba, in addition to a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family who he and Neva always opened their home to and visited regularly back in Iowa.
