Earl Manyik 79 passed away May 6 at home with his wife beside him. Earl fought a courageous fight against cancer for the past 5 years along with other health issues. Earl was born to Helen (Palko) and John Manyik on September 30, 1943. He was raised on a farm north of Calhan, CO. He attended schools in Ramah and Calhan graduating in 1961. He went into farming and worked at the Pikes Peak Coop in Calhan until 1973 at which time he transferred with Farmland to the Coop in North La Junta. In 1984 he went to work for Spradley Motors which became known as Big Valley Ford L/M Dodge. He held the position as Sales Manager for 24 years. He retired from Big Valley in October 2007. Earl served on the Ford Motor and Chrysler dealer counsel boards and on Farmland board for many years. At one time he served on the Advisory Board of OJC. Earl attended Valley Cowboy Church.
Earl enjoyed working outside at home, working with wood, and cooking. At one time he cooked for friends gatherings. Watching Gunsmoke everyday was his entertainment. He enjoyed time with the family and grandchildren.
Earl is survived by his wife, Marcella “Marci” of the home; his daughter, Jennifer Lambertz of
Lawrenceville, GA; his sons, Jeremy Manyik of La Junta and Jay Manyik of Las Vegas, NV; step-daughter, Shelley Woody of Colorado Springs, CO; step-son, Aaron (Stephanie) Eveatt of Colorado Springs and step-son Randy Kehn of Aurora, CO; grandchildren; John & Amanda Coxwell, Ethan & Acacia Manyik; step-grandchildren, Josh (Shelby) Eveatt, Cassie Douglass, David Woody, Philip, Taryn, Saige & Sierra Kehn; two great-grandchildren as well as 9 step-great grandchildren; sister, Betty Evanoika of Peyton CO; brothers, Junior (Janie) Manyik of Calhan, CO and Gary (Kathy) Manyik of Ft Collins, CO. Also several nieces, nephews & cousins and many special friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jeff Manyik, sisters, Vera Kopsho and Blanche Sedlak, brother, Nick, brothers-in-laws Alex Sedlak, Steve Olyejar, George Evanoika , Al Kopsho and sister-in-law Marie Manyik.
Graveside service will be Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Gail Allen of the Valley Cowboy Church and Rick Cofer of Living Word Church, Calhan, Colorado co-officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Cowboy Church, 15274 County Road N, Model, CO, 81059 or to the Arkansas Valley Hospice Assoc., P.O. Box 408, La Junta, direct or through the funeral home.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
