Ed Mcdonald

Ed McDonald, 84, of La Junta passed away on August 23, 2014 at the Evergreen Gardens. He was born on November 14, 1929 to James O. & Eva Pearl (Nichols) McDonald in La Junta, CO. Ed married the love of his life Rea Cobb on November 18, 1950 in La Junta.


Ed served in the Korean Conflict with the United States Army. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and enjoyed playing cards, going on walks, and he loved cats. Ed was a member of the La Junta Elks Lodge and a faithful member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish.


Ed is survived by his wife, Rea of the La Junta home; son, Mike McDonald of Nixa, MO; daughter, Gail (Charley) Harrington of Pueblo; granddaughters, Jackie (Fred) Baca Pueblo West; Nancy (Patrick) Baird of Chicago, Ill; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Teal & Dax Baca; sisters, Kay Rafferty of La Junta; Mary Luton of Pueblo. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jim McDonald; brothers-in-law, Jim Rafferty & Leonard Luton.


As per Ed’s request cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.



In lieu of flowers those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to the Arkansas Valley Hospice, PO Box 408, La Junta, CO, 81050 or Evergreen Gardens, Activities fund direct or through the funeral home.
