Elizabeth Blake

Elizabeth "Lizzie" Blake, 95, of Fowler, formerly of La Mirada, California, passed away on March 21, 2015 at the Fowler Health Care Center. She was born on January 26, 1920 in La Junta to Peter & Elizabeth (Kuhn) Herman. Lizzie married William Blake; he preceded her in death on April 14, 2005.


Lizzie's career as a seamstress and suit maker for movie stars spanned from 1950 to her retirement in 1985. When her health began to fail, at the age of 94, Lizzie moved to Fowler to be near her family. She was an avid dog lover and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.


Lizzie is survived by numerous nieces & nephews and her beloved dog, Mitzy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings.


Those wishing to do so may make memorial donations to the Sugar City Lutheran Church direct or through the funeral home.


Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.


Graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lakeview Cemetery in Sugar City, Colorado with Reverend Rick Miller of the Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
