Eloisa Esquivel, 80, passed away on October 7, 2018 at her Rocky Ford home. She was born on May 5, 1938 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Vicente Max & Catherine (Sanchez) Sandoval. She married Cesar Esquivel Martinez in 1975, he preceded her in death on March 24, 2016.
Eloisa was a proud mother of nine children. She worked and supported her family, came home, cleaned, washed and cooked before she ever thought of her personal needs. She loved all of them and her generations of grandchildren. She welcomed many others and treated them as her own.
She especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends, eating out, going to Cripple Creek, going to yard sales, offering prayers and visiting the ill.
She welcomed everyone into her home with love, kindness and generosity. She taught all of the children in her life respect for others, the importance of family, and raised them to love the Lord. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by her children, Frank Aragon of Commerce City, CO; Joe (Inez) Aragon of Hayes, KS; Clara Aragon, Gloria (Bobby) Maestas, Sally (Ken) Rodriguez and Beatrice (DeShaun) Jones all of Rocky Ford; grandson, Shayne Aragon; siblings, Herman (Fina) Sandoval of La Junta; Della (Victor) Esquibel of Mora, N.M.; Mary Sanchez of Las Vegas, N.M.; 27 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and six great, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Margarito and Thomas Aragon; daughter, Linda Aragon; brothers, Fernandez and Ignacio Sandoval; and her sister, Beatrice Baca.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rocky Ford with Father Paul Ekeh officiating. Interment will follow at the Rocky Ford Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to the Arkansas Valley Hospice, PO Box 408, La Junta, CO 81050 direct or through the funeral home.
