Eva Ruth Hall, 89, passed away April 28, 2013 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center. She was born on March 21, 1924 in Lamar, Colorado to Earl Duval & Grace Ethal (Hash) Whitaker. She was the sister to Earl Duval Whitaker, Jr. & James A. Whitaker; she now rejoins them, they are all together again. She married Dennis E. Hall, Sr. in 1943; the couple divorced in 1963.
Eva Ruth graduated from La Junta High School with the class of 1942. She worked at Fox Theater, Newsberry's, Big R, and was the night Librarian at Otero Junior College for twenty years. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and Elks Does.
Eva Ruth is survived by her children, Diane K. (Francis E.) Kite of Tulsa, OK, Denise M. (Joseph, Jr.) Carrica of Swink, CO, and Dennis (Pat) Hall, Jr. of Cheyenne, WY; grandchildren, Wendy, Cende, Joseph III, Desiree, Chrystal, and Mandy; eight great-grandchildren and a great, great-grandchild. Sister-in-law, Bernice (Wilson) Whitaker of Amarillo, TX; one niece and two nephews also survive.
As per her request there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the La Junta Animal Shelter direct or through the funeral home.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
