Evelyn Frances Gilliland

Evelyn Frances Scofield Gilliland, 90, passed away October 20, 2013 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. She was born on November 4, 1922 in Rooks County, Kansas to Jay E. & Marie Elizabeth (Sherwood) Scofield. She married Bill Gilliland on January 12, 1962 in Pueblo, Colorado; he preceded her in death in March 10, 1998.

She grew up in the Rocky Ford area. Evelyn worked as a waitress for ten years and for 30 years in the cleaning shops, retiring in 1988.

She is survived by her step-daughters, Sharon (Kane) Balcom of Marshall, AR and Cathy Gilliland of Colorado Springs; and numerous step grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Wesley Scofield, sisters, Ann Grinstead and Rosanna Ong, step-sons, Barry & Dave Gilliland.
