Frances Lucille Anderson

September 25, 1926 — February 19, 2016

On the morning of Feb 19, 2016, at 8:08 a.m. Frances Lucille Anderson
passed away peacefully with family members by her side in Pueblo at the Joni Fair Hospice
House, after 7 years battle with Alzheimer's. She was 89 years old.
Frances was born in Donna, Texas at 6:00
a.m. on Sept 25, 1926. She was the third child
of Alois and Mae Schuler.
Frances was raised on a farm and
when she was old enough, worked beside her dad and siblings. When Frances was born her father owned
a strawberry farm in Donna, TX and later relocated to Goodman, MO where the family
continued farming.
Frances Schuler met her
husband Leslie V. Anderson, a soldier at Camp Crowder Missouri. They married March 13, 1943.
Frances was the distributor of
the Pueblo Chieftain/Star Journal in the 1950's for several years in Fowler.
She also worked at Mother's Kitchen in Fowler. She moved to La Junta in 1961,
she was the distributor for the Denver Post. She went on to work at the La
Junta Safeway (a job she dearly loved) until her retirement.
Frances always had a house full
of her children, her grandkids and their friends. She was known for her cooking
and everyone's favorite Cinnamon Rolls.
Loving children, after
retirement, Frances became a foster
grandparent for the Foster Grandparent Program. She volunteered at various
places, to include Child Development Services and the La Junta Library during
the summer reading program.
Frances was the last surviving of
her siblings (2 sisters and 2 brothers).
Frances is survived by her children:
Buster (Jacki) Anderson of Raton NM; David (Sheryl) Anderson of Olney Springs,
CO; Carl Anderson of La Junta, CO; Leroy (Cindy) Anderson of Clovis, NM;
Lynette (Terry) Reeves of La Junta, CO. She is also survived by many
grandchildren and great-grandchiIdren.
In lieu of flowers, the
family is requesting that donations be made to Sangre de Cristo Hospice, 124 W.
Cranston Avenue, Fowler; First Christian Church, 109 W. 5th, La Junta; or Child
Development Services, 200 Burshears, in La Junta.
Special thanks to the
Fowler Health Care Nursing Home for lovingly taking care of Frances and Sangre
de Cristo Hospice for their compassionate care.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church with Ron Skorick officiating.
