Frank Freidenberger, 76, passed away March 7, 2013 at his Rocky Ford home. He was born April 6, 1936 in La Junta to Manuel & Anna Marie (Wirth) Freidenberger. He married Ruth I. Grasmick at the Community Presbyterian Church of Rocky Ford in 1958.
Frank served in the United States Army. He attended and graduated from Western State College where he was on a football scholarship. Frank received his Masters Degree in Agronomy from Colorado State University in Fort Collins. He worked for American Crystal Sugar, Soil Conservation Service, Arkansas Valley Seed and Dirt Lovers, Inc. He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church and the La Junta Elks Lodge #701.
Frank held the state record in the shot put, he was the employee of the year at Arkansas Valley Seed and he brought the first brushless carwash to the Arkansas Valley.
He is survied by his wife, Ruth of the Rocky Ford family home; daughter, Linda (Jack) Jackson of Olney Springs; sons, Gregg Freidenberger of Rocky Ford and Steve Freidenberger of La Junta; grandchildren, Nathan Ochoa, Tiffany Ochoa, Bryce Ochoa, Veronica Leitner, Allen Jackson, Courtney Freidenberger, Brock Freidenberger & Zach Freidenberger; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Ochoa, Joshua Ochoa, Isaiah Ochoa, Sarayah Cunningham, Alexis Freidenberger, Audrey Leitner, Jackson Leitner & Lily Jackson; special freinds, Laura Freidenberger, Kristi McArthur & Tammy Gauna. Frank was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Arkansas Valley Hospice Assoc., P.O. Box 408, La Junta, Co, 81050 direct or through the funeral home.
Funeral service will be Monday, March 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church with Reverend Steve Culver officiating.
