Froilan Rosales

October 5, 1924 — July 16, 2014

Froilan Rosales was born on October 5, 1924 and departed this world on July 16, 2014. He married Amalia Flores on August 23, 1949 and by the Catholic Church in 1950.


Froilan lived in La Junta all his life. He was a proud member of the Catholic Church and served as a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. Froilan worked tirelessly from 1940's to 2000's for the Catholic Church, specifically helping with the set up and take down of the bazaars and participating in many dance competitions. He retired after 40 years of service with the Santa Fe Railroad and 3 years with the United States Army.


He is survived by his wife, Amalia of the La Junta home; sister, Natividad (Mario Hernandez); sons, Froilan of San Diego, CA, Gerald (Soledad) and Julius (Robin); daughter, Eunice, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Froilan was preceded in death by his parents, Gregorio and Martina (Betancur) Rosales; brothers, Cresencio, Antonio and Leno; sister, Candalaria (Santos Sanchez); son, Timothy and grandson, Kevin Petramala.


The family respectfully asks for and appreciates privacy at this time. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Arkansas Valley Hospice Assoc., P.O. Box 408, La Junta, CO, 81050 direct or through the funeral home.
