Gary Lynn Quick

Gary Lynn Quick, 72, of La Junta, passed away on January 3, 2018 at the Bent County Memorial Nursing Home. He was born to Ralph & Mildred (Applebee) Quick on May 5, 1945 in La Junta. Gary married Mary Lou Marroney on July 4, 1964 in La Junta.

Gary was born in La Junta and raised his boys in Cheraw. He enjoyed camping, fishing & hunting with his family. He was a fan of wrestling and football, especially the Denver Broncos. Gary worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a carman for over 30 years, retiring in 2000. He loved spending hours visiting about the railroad or the Broncos. Gary could always be counted on to joke and have fun. He was proud of his boys and family. He will be greatly missed.

Gary is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; sons, Todd (Robbie) Quick, Scot (Pam) Quick, Michael (Steffiney) Quick, and J.J. (Bobbi) Quick; grandchildren, Brandie (John) McMillan, A.J. (Mariah) Quick, Bailey (John) Smith, Lane Quick, Robert (Montana) Quick, Stormi Quick and Jami Quick; great-grandchildren, Maisen, Lexi, Aiden Quick and Harper Smith; brother, Bud Quick; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jack, Melsene, Darlene, John and Larry.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 8, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Gordon Smith of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, January 7, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
