Gene Broce

Gene Broce 80, of Cheraw passed away on August 7, 2017. He was born on November 19, 1936 in La Junta, Colorado to Fred Lee & Loretta Irene (Casebolt) Broce. He married Barbara Jean Huffman on December 15, 1954 in Clayton, New Mexico; she preceded him in death on May 25, 2015.

Gene is survived by his daughter, Candi Patton, sons, Frank (Rhonda) Broce, Loyd (Robin) Broce all of Cheraw; brother, Roy (Francis) Broce of Summersville, MO; sisters, Irene Huffman of Springfield, CO and Marjorie Wood of Boise City, OK; grandchildren, Kylene (Ryan) Reed of Bushland, TX, Kirsten (Brian) Bonds of Cheraw, Clayton Broce of Cheraw, Kyle (Ashtyn) Broce, Lindsay (Tyler) Graham, and Chelsea Broce all of Cheraw; great-grandchildren, Mason & Jaxon Reed, Easton, Landrey & Breckyn Bonds , Taylee Graham and Trycelea Broce; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and his son, Kelley Broce.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at the Cheraw High School Gymnasium with Pastor Ryan Trosper of the Cheraw United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
