George Gilbert Gallegos, 77, passed away on September 3, 2020 at his Rocky Ford home. He was born on March 11, 1943 in Rocky Ford to Frank & Benita (Lara) Gallegos. He married Sandy Jaramillo on August 20, 1994 in Rocky Ford.
Gilbert loved listening to music, spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He had a special in his heart for his god daughter Jaymie Martinez Matthews.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy of the Rocky Ford home; son, Vince (Lucy) Gallegos of La Junta; daughter, Rhonda Gallegos of La Junta; brothers, Frank (Ofilia) Gallegos of Liberal, KS; Anthony Gallegos of Rocky Ford; sisters, Mary Ann Jaramillo of Fountain, CO; Rita Encinias of Trinidad, CO; Vivian Encinias of Rocky Ford; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Johnny Gallegos; father-in-law, Gene Jaramillo and granddaughter, Ashley Ulloa.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. both services at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rocky Ford with Father Paul Ekeh officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9, 2020 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Valley View Cemetery in Rocky Ford.
