George N. Garcia

George N. Garcia, 85, passed away on May 18, 2016 at his Rocky Ford home. He was born on February 22, 1931 in Guadalupita, New Mexico to Alfredo & Adelaida (Montoya) Garcia.
 
George worked as a machine operator and farm laborer and was the gardener for the City of La Junta. He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandkids.
 
He is survived by his wife, Alice of Rocky Ford; children, Gloria (John) Medley of Seattle, WA; David (Celia) Garcia of La Junta; sister, Erminda Loveless of Pueblo, CO; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Jerry & Eddie Garcia; brothers, Fred, Arcenio & Johnny.
 
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pioneer Healthcare Center, 900 S. 12th Street, Rocky Ford, CO 81067 direct or through the funeral home.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. both services at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Jean-Marie Mondji officiating.
