Georgiann Howells

June 28, 1942 — August 7, 2018

Georgiann Howells, 76, passed away on August 7th, 2018 at her home in Olney Springs, Colorado surrounded by her loving family and pets. She was born on June 28, 1942 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to George and Teresa Serbanic.

Georgiann graduated and immediately join the army eventually relocating to Colorado Springs, Colorado. After she left the service she met and married Leonard D. Howells, Jr. of Colorado Springs on March 4th, 1974. They eventually moved to Crowley County; he preceded her in death on October 15th, 2000.

She worked hard for her entire life serving her boys, grandchildren, stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren. She was a wife, mother, and friend to all who knew her. She served her community and country. She was a member of the Olney Springs Community Methodist Church for many years and served on the Town Council as well.

She is survived by her three sons, Jesse Howells (Cathryn) of Crowley, CO; Loren Howells of Olney Springs, CO and Clinton (aka Duker) Howells of Denver, CO; step-daughters, Diana Williams of Phoenix, AZ; Jean (Paul) Hudson of Catoosa, OK; Connie Barnes (Bob) of Mesquite, NV; Ginger Howells of Phoenix, AZ; step-son, Leonard (Shelly) Howells, III of Avondale, CO; sister, Virginia L. Anderson and brother Robert J. Schwirtz both of Bloomington, MN. As well as numerous nieces and nephews on both sides.

In addition she is survived by three grandsons, Hunter, Jacob, and Tanner. 11 step-grandchildren, Victoria, Veronica, Timothy, Tiffany, Tonya, Michael, Christy, Sandie, Sue Ella, Leonard IIII, Karroll, T.J and Tesla and 29 step-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Rakowski, parents, George and Teresa Serbanic, son, Raymond, step son-n-law, Mike Barnes and two step-granddaughters, Valerie and Tabitha.

Celebration of life for Georgiann Howells will be held on August 11th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., at the River of Life Church in Ordway, Colorado. Pastor Jebb Brown and Pastor Lora Payne will officiate. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions will be sent and collected by Peacock-Larson Funeral Home in La Junta Colorado.
