Gerald “Jerry” Casebolt, 64, passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 1st at his La Junta home. He was born on August 20, 1945 in Weiser, Idaho to Howard & Evelyn (Dillon) Casebolt.
Jerry grew up on a farm in Cheraw where he attended 12 years of school; graduating in 1963. He enjoyed playing basketball and football for the Cheraw Wolverines. Jerry served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969 in Newport Beach, Rhode Island. He was a graduate of Colorado State University. Jerry was a car salesman for many years. He worked for several years as the Larimer County Finance Director and worked with the Larimer County Search & Rescue. Jerry enjoyed bowling, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his son, Jerry Casebolt of Pritchett; mother, Evelyn Casebolt of Pritchett, sister, Franka Casebolt of Pritchett; brothers, Rodney (Susan) Casebolt of Loveland, CO and Howard (Linda) Casebolt of Phoenix, AZ; and sister, Pat (Gary) Crane of Pritchett. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Casebolt.
Graveside services will be Friday, March 5th at 1:00 p.m., at Fairview Cemetery with Reverend Tom Dudley of the United Methodist Church of Cheraw officiating.
