Guy W. Watters

Guy W. Watters, 82, passed away on March 3, 2015 at his Cheraw home. He was born on July 2, 1932 in Cheraw, Colorado to John Franklin & Jemima (Merk) Watters.
He served in the United States Army as a Paratrooper and also served with the Air Force. He worked in the Turkey Growing business. He owned Holbrook Pump & Supply for 50 years. He was active in Quarter horse racing & breeding. He loved to listen to Elvis and country music. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church. He enjoyed working long days and enjoyed the work he did. He was very quick-witted and had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
 
Guy is survived by his wife, Arlene of the family home;  children, Sharon (Jim) De Los Reyes of Delta, CO; Gary (Linda) Watters of Brookings, SD; Jeff (Kathy) Watters of Jacksonville Beach, FL; Wes Watters of Euless, TX; Terry (Ann) Watters of Holcomb, KS; grandchildren, Ginny Hall of Torrington, WY; Jared (Nicole) Hall of Ventura, CA; Melissa (Garrett) Meyer of Red Wing, MN; Sara Watters of Brookings, SD; Andru Watters of Brookings, SD; Lindsay (James) Bagshaw of New Hampshire, Ryan Watters, Adam Watters both of Jacksonville Beach, FL; Carey Watters, Brandon Watters of Holcomb, KS; great-grandchildren, Kayla & Sam Broberg both of Torrington, WY; Kai Hall of Ventura, CA; and Harper & Lucy Bagshaw; sister, Geraldine (Hans) Hansen of Cheraw. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John, Melvin, Carlyle and sisters, Leona & Velma.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to the Arkansas Valley Hospice, PO Box 408, La Junta, CO, 81050 direct or through funeral home.
 
 
 
 

Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church in La Junta with Pastor Ken West of the Crowley Community Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be Monday, March 9, 2015 one hour prior to funeral service at the church. Interment will follow at the Rocky Ford Cemetery with Military Honors by the Rocky Ford Rifle Team, American Legion Post #8.
