Gwendlyn Grace Bickel

Gwendlyn Grace Bickel, 92, of La Junta passed away on March 20th, 2015 at the Fowler Health Care Center.


Gwendlyn was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, devoted wife and loyal friend to many. She worked for many years at our La Junta Bowling Alley and taught hundreds of children how to bowl. It was a great love of hers!


Gwendlyn loved all animals and got great joy from feeding all the squirrels and birds daily!

She will be greatly missed.


Gwendlyn is survived by son, Lyle Bickel; daughter, Frances (Douglas) Nelson and daughter-in-law, Donna Young. 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by husband, Irvin (Bud) Bickel, son, Dale Young, granddaughter, Dawn Young, grandson, Bobby Austin and great-grandson, Dustin Austin.


Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.


Graveside service will be Thursday, March 26, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Fort Lyon National Cemetery with Reverend Gordon Smith of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating.
