Harold Joseph McDonald, 68, of Amarillo, TX, passed away on Aug. 4, 2016 at the Amarillo Veterans Affairs Hospital. He was born on July 21, 1948 in Rocky Ford to William Robert & Huldah Irene (Wright) McDonald.
Harold enjoyed fishing and taking care of others. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his sons, Chad (Margaret) McDonald of La Junta and Jason (Shannon) McDonald of Las Animas; grandchildren, Braidyn, Jayden, Rosa, Amber, Nichole and Marina; siblings, Mike McDonald of Amarillo, Darrell McDonald of Gourney, IL, Russell McDonald of Cheraw, Betty Hobbick of Cheraw, Margaret Hogue of Amarillo, Sharon Wallace of La Junta, and Lynn Higashimura of Terre Haute, IN; sister-in-law, Rev. Opal McDonald of Pueblo. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at the Cheraw United Methodist Church with Robert Frazier officiating. Visitation is today, Aug. 10, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta. Interment will follow the funeral service at Ft. Lyon National Cemetery.
