Harold W. Trembly, 98, longtime Manzanola resident, died Nov. 22, 2012 at Pioneer Health Care Center in Rocky Ford. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Manzanola Nazarene Church with interment to follow at Mountainview Cemetery in Manzanola. Viewing will precede services at 9 a.m. at the church.
He was born Nov. 2, 1914 in Hugoton, KS to Frank and Henrietta (Duncan) Trembly, the oldest of 12 children. The family moved to Manzanola in 1936, where he met his future wife, Ethel Shook. They were married Feb. 4, 1947 in Clayton, NM. They had one daughter, Debra, and made their home in Manzanola. Harold ran a farm south of Manzanola for many years and retired from Cheraw Coop. He was, known as "Papa" to his grandchildren and the name stuck for anyone who knew and loved him.
He is survived by, his sisters Edna Schlegel of Rocky Ford and Irene (Stuart) MacMillan of Santa Barbara, CA, grandchildren Harold (Shanyn) Krieger of Manzanola and Health (Sonia) Krieger of Pueblo, and great-grandchildren Emmalee, Karley, and Toby Kriegei Of Manzanola.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Debra earlier this year, and nine brothers and sisters.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home is in charge of' arrangements.
