Henry "Wall-E" Torrez

Henry Ruben “Wall-e” Torrez, 52, of La Junta passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at the St. Anthony Medical Center in Denver. He was born on December 17, 1958, in La Junta, Colorado to Alvaro J. & Stella R. (Chavez) Torrez.  

Wall-e was full of life and he loved his family, his children, grandkids, and his friends. He loved to dance and was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He was always happy and had a beautiful smile. He would always say, “God bless you always and forever”. He would want us all to cherish the beautiful memories we have of him and to have “happy tears” because he would want that for us. He would also want us to be strong and carry on always and forever, amen.

He is survived by his mother, Stella Torrez of La Junta; children, April Torrez of Colorado Springs; Brian Torrez of Las Animas; Henry Torrez, Jr. of Pueblo; Chris Torrez of Pueblo;  James Torrez of Las Animas; grandchildren, Erica Estrada of Colorado Springs; Brian Torrez, Jr. of Las Animas; brothers & sisters, Tony (Susan) Torrez of Rocky Ford; Robert Torrez of La Junta; Martin Torrez of La Junta; Becky (Bill) Lail of Whitesboro, TX; Kathy Torrez of La Junta; Tina (Henry) Viapando of Aurora, CO; Steve Torrez of La Junta; Joseph Torrez of La Junta, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends survive. 

Henry was preceded in death by his father Alvaro Torrez; sister, Patsy Torrez, and brother, Alfred Torrez.

Memorial services will be Friday, August 19, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Peacock Memorial Chapel with Reverend Ron Skorick of the First Christian Church officiating.
