Isabel Del Rio, 77, of La Junta, passed away February 10, 2013 in Littleton, Colorado. She was born on July 6, 1935 in La Junta, Colorado to Panfilo and Frances Olivarez. She was married to John Del Rio in La Junta, Colorado from 1961 to 1976.
Isabel worked for Arkansas Valley Community Center, now known as Inspiration Field, for 24 years before retiring in 2009. Isabel was recognized many times for her dedication to serving and inspiring her clients, whom she loved very much. Isabel was very active in her church community and also enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with family.
Isabel is survived by children, Louise (Albert) Guerrero, Steven (Barbara) Del Rio, Richard Del Rio and Christopher (Wendy) Del Rio; sisters Rita Whatley, Pauline (Tony) Rangel, Emma (Raymond) Jara; brother Carmel (Bernice) Olivarez; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Chano Olivarez and Tony Olivarez.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, February 15, 2013, at Upper Room Fellowship with Pastor Paul Simon officiating. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in La Junta. Visitation will be Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Peacock Funeral Home.
