Jack Wayne Chapman, II passed away unexpectedly September 4, 2023 at his La Junta home. He was born September 14, 1977 to Brock & Kerry (Gulmon) Chapman in La Junta, CO.
Jack was a lifetime resident of La Junta. He graduated from La Junta High School in 1996 where he cherished his friends and his time as a member of the football team.
He was a captain at Bent County Correctional Facility for many years. For the last three years he was employed at Auxillium as an Utility Repair Specialist Dispatcher.
He enjoyed being a referee for high school football games for 15 years. He liked to barbecue with family and friends, and he enjoyed watching the Broncos and the Alabama Crimson Tide play football. He liked to go fishing and ice fishing. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of the lawn.
Jack is survived by his mother Kerry Chapman of Naperville, IL; sister, Misty (John) Torrez of Naperville, IL; nieces, Gracie, Claire and Sophie; aunts, Linda Pacino of Rocky Ford, CO; Keo (Joe) Pearce of Concord, CA; uncle, Eddie Hughes of Gulf Port, MS; numerous cousins and close friends also survive. He is preceded in death by his father, Brock Chapman; aunts, Jodi Hughes & Glenna buck; and his K-9 companion, Roscoe.
Memorial Service for Jack will be held, Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta, with Pastor John Dell of the First Christian Church of Rocky Ford officiating.
